Bought in person, in Japan. This piece was found and brought back by us, in store, from established Japanese secondhand retailers. We work with no supplier we have not met, and we never buy lots sight unseen.

A first check, before we even buy. These retailers verify that pieces are genuine before they reach the shelf. They belong to the AACD, the Japanese trade association that works against the distribution of counterfeits. They rely on specialist authentication services, FAKE BUSTERS among them, which combines a team of specialists, analytical instruments and artificial intelligence technology.

Then ours. Every piece is taken in hand again and examined point by point: stitching, lining, labels, stamps, hardware, serial codes, finishes. The photographs on this page show the markings recorded on this piece.

That first check adds to ours, it does not replace it.

An LHOVI authenticity card comes with every piece. It carries the item reference, its condition grade and the date of our check. It travels with the parcel.

Every LHOVI piece is assessed on its overall condition. The grade comes with a detailed description of the wear and of the flaws visible in the photographs.

A, excellent condition. Very little or no visible sign of use.

B+, very good condition. Very well kept, with light surface wear only.

B, good condition. Visible signs of use, without excessive wear.

BC, fair condition. More pronounced wear, which may include scratches, rubbing or wear to the leather.

C, worn condition. Heavy wear, with several visible flaws.

CD, heavily worn condition. Marked wear and significant flaws, for anyone who accepts a piece with a long history.

The grade always reflects the overall condition of the piece. A piece graded A carries no significant flaw.

Hand delivery available in Paris and its inner suburbs, on orders from 150 €. We do not deliver to your address. We meet in a public place in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 8th arrondissement, at a time agreed together after the order.

Returns accepted within 14 days. Return postage is at your expense.

Every piece leaves sealed with a numbered tag, its number recorded on the authenticity card. You are free to examine the piece and try it on, as you would in a shop, the seal prevents none of that. If the seal has been removed and the piece comes back with signs of use, we deduct the loss of value from the refund, explained in writing and supported by photographs.
